A Bribe for a Passing Grade in Final Exam

Two students of the Faculty of Therapeutic Stomatology at the Mkhitar Heratsi Yerevan State Medical University have assisted the police in busting a case of corruption.  The two students had earlier filed a complaint with the police that the Head of Department Armen Harutyunyan was demanding US$ 1000 from each of them in exchange for a passing grade in the final exam.  This demand was being made through Armine Gevorgyan, an instructor at the department and a member of the examining panel. The website of the Republic of Armenia Police states that, as the result of an organized operation, Armine Gevorgyan was caught in the act and arrested in the administrative building of the department after she accepted US$ 2000 from the students.  A case has been filed with the criminal department of the Police and an investigation is in progress.
