In a reference to the conviction of Levon Avagyan, a former teacher at Nubarashen school N 11 for children with special needs, Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan said that he was happy that justice had been served.  Journalists said that the situation in the school had not changed much and that Merujan Yengibaryan, the principal of the school had remained in his position despite years of abuse and violence towards the children there and the Minister replied that there was a issues with human resources in Armenia for special needs schools and it would be wrong to focus solely on school N 11. “I promise that you will soon see big changes in the system of schools for children with special needs.  I will personally examine the facts of the case and if they prove to be true, I promise that I will deal with the issue of the principal of Nubarashen school N 11.”
