Serj Tankian, lead singer and songwriter of System of a Down fame, will hold a concert in Yerevan on August 12. Tankian will be accompanied by six members of his group and will be backed by Armenia’s State Philharmonic Orchestra. The concert has been organized by Deem Communications and Fugitive Studios and is seen as wrapping up the Elect the Dead Symphony tour. Armen Goubelyan, President of Deem Communications, told reporters today that the concert has been two years in the making and that Tankian has always wanted to perform in Armenia. Mr. Goubelyan said that the company seeks to introduce talented diaspora Armenian artists and performers to the public in Armenia.
