According to an unnamed reporter at the newspaper "Haykakan Zhamanak", the RoA Presidential Palace does not allow opposition papers to cover the actions of President Serzh Sargsyan. The reporter forwarded his complaint to Armen Harutyunyan, Armenia's Human Rights Ombudsman.
In response, Mr. Harutyunyan said, "To be honest, I don't know if the presidential palace allows such coverage or not, but there have been incidents when the regime and the opposition (ANC) have not allowed certain papers to cover issues."
The reporter pointed out the differences between the tenure of former President Levon Ter-Petrosyan and the current head of state.
Mr. Harutyunyan said that his office would be organizing a special gathering on July 9 regarding the issue of freedom of speech in Armenia.
