Armavia Delays: No Explanations Forthcoming

On Sunday, Armavia Airlines unexpectedly delayed several flights indefinitely. The company could give no reason why hundreds of passengers had to be stranded at the Zvartnots Airport without receiving any official explanations. In the morning flights from Yerevan to Krasnodar and Sochi were delayed. Armavia could only tell irate passengers that the wildfires now raging in Russia or weather conditions were not the cause. Hetq made several inquiries. The best answer that Armavia could give is that there was an unexpected shortage of planes. The 6 pm flight to Aleppo was also delayed till 2 am. Passengers demanded that the company put them up in hotels until the issue was resolved. Armavia refused, saying they didn’t have the resources to do so. Then why sell tickets if there are no planes to take passengers to their destinations? It seems that there is no one in Armavia willing or able to answer this question. The company press secretary Jasmine Vilyan on vacation, and so is the deputy press secretary. Hetq was promised some answers tomorrow.
