The Armenian government today gave the green light for a professional agro-tourist complex to be built in the town of Vayk, regional capital of Vayots Dzor. The complex will aim to spur the marketing of locally grown produce as well as highlight traditional arts and crafts. The complex will be built to standards appropriate to the local environment and will receive special government status. Prime Minister Sargsyan noted that this was another step towards a balanced and diversified economic base in which the areas outside Yerevan are not overlooked.
