The Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in America will have its new cathedral consecrated by visiting Catholicos of All Armenians, Garegin II. The ceremony will take place today at 3 pm local time. The new diocesan cathedral will be named St. Leon. On Sunday, September 12, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, the Pontifical Divine Liturgy will take place in the newly consecrated Cathedral, and His Holiness will offer his spiritual message to the faithful. The cost of the new cathedral is said to have been $20 million.
