Oil Factory Shut Down Due to Foul Exhausts
As of September 18, the Shogh vegetable oil factory in Shengavit has been closed down on orders of Nature Protection Minister Aram Haroutunyan after an inspection of the site was made.
It appears that the factory wasn’t using the exhaust filtration system on a constant basis, leading to an administrative fine of 100,000 AMD. Heritage Party MP Anahit Bakhshyan had petitioned the Ministry to conduct the tests after receiving complaints from 167 local residents regarding the foul odors emanating from the factory.
