Armenian Parliament Starts Review of 2011 Draft Budget
Starting today, the RA National Assembly will be debating the 2011 draft national budget. Finance Minister Tigran Davtyan was present at today’s legislative session to note the major expense items in the budget.
Minister Davtyan stated that 200 billion AMD would be allocated for pension payments; 18 billion more than this year.
1.65 billion will be allocated to compensate those who lost their rouble denominated bank savings due to the collapse of the Soviet Union. It is the same amount allocated in 2010.
3.8 billion will go towards road construction and 26.5 billion will go towards housing construction for those left homeless due to the 1988 earthquake.
