Government "Hot Line" Averages 40-50 Calls Daily

Between June 1 and October 1, the Armenian government’s "hot line" has received 2,456 calls. Alexander Ghazaryan, who heads the government’s Department for Reception of Citizens and Discussion of Petitions, told Hetq that most of those contacting his office are seeking advice or filing complaints on social matters such as pensions, medical assistance, school tuition, etc. The official says that 40-50 calls per day is par for the course. Outside of Yerevan, the regions of Lori and Shirak lead the way in calls and applications to the government. In these cases, the bulk of the applications deal with hosing issues related to the earthquake zone. Mr. Ghazaryan noted that the number of applications always peak right around election time. The Hot Line's number is: 527-000.
