Today Is Monte's Birthday!

Today, Monte Melkonian (aka Avo), a lifelong combatant in the Armenian national liberation struggle and hero of the Artsakh War, would have turned fifty-three. He was killed on the battlefield in Artsakh, June 12, 1993.

His resting place is the Yerablur National Military Cemetery on the outskirts of Yerevan.
