Chickenpox Hits School Kids in Kapan

124 cases of chickenpox infection have been reported in the southern Armenian town of Kapan so far this month. Aida Badalyan, an infectious disease specialist at the Kapan Medical Center, said that cases cropped up in the town’s 5 kindergartens and four schools. Doctor Badalyan said the rash often surfaces on out of the way parts of the body, and thus parents often aren’t aware that their child has been infected. She said that once a person comes down with chickenpox, they become immune to further cases for the most part.
