Fired Agriculture Inspectorate Chief Claims “Foul”
Vram Gyuzadyan says sacking was due to daughter of MP Harutyunyan
Vram Gyuzadyan, former head of the Bio-Sanitary Inspectorate of the Ministry of Agriculture, has told Hetq that the reason for his dismissal was linked to the daughter of MP Davit Harutyunyan, President of the Standing Committee for Legal Affairs.
Mr. Gyuzadyan promised to provide details substantiating this statement in the future. According to reports circulating in the press, MP Harutyunyan’s daughter is engaged in importing goods to Armenia that are subject to inspection by the Bio-Sanitary Inspectorate.
When we called the Agriculture Ministry for some answers, Public Affairs Department Head Vahagn Martirosyan answered with a question of his own – "Why don’t you go and ask Vram Gyuzadyan?"
Martirosyan said that the dismissal was according to official procedure and that there was no mention of MP Harutyunyan’s daughter in the files.
When we asked Mr. Martirosyan if he indeed was denying the rumors he answered, "I have nothing to say. My opinion isn’t important. The ministry has no comment regarding Vram Gyuzadyan."
