Driver Criminally Charged with Beating Traffic Cops
The preliminary investigation of a criminal case involving the use of violence against a government representative has been completed by the RA Special Investigation Service. The prosecutor who was supervising the preliminary investigation of the criminal case has confirmed the indictment.
During the preliminary investigation, it was been revealed that on September 4, 2010, at about 05:50 p.m. M.Grigoryan parked VAS 2121 car registered in the RA National Security Service in the opposite direction of the road in Ogostosi 23 Street in Artashat.
The policemen of the RA Traffic Police 2nd battalion 1st company 2nd division A.Beklaryan, H.Soukiasyan and D.Mkrtumyan noticed the breach of traffic rules during their service. D.Mkrtumyan rebuked M.Grigoryan by loudspeaker and demanded to move the car. But M.Grigoryan abused and quarreled with the policemen and didn’t give them his registration and driving license.
According to the preliminary investigation data, the investigator of the Ararat Regional Investigation Department of the RA Police S.Nazarpur approached M.Grigoryan trying to prevent the incident. However, M.Grigoryan escaped after using violence against S.Nazarpur and M.Grigoryan.
M.Grigoryan has been accused according to the RA Criminal Code Article 316, part 1 for using violence against the policemen S.Nazarpur and M.Grigoryan. Prosecutor General’s office informs that the criminal case has been sent to the Court of First Instance of Ararat region.
