A group calling itself "We Own the City", have circulated an announcement on Facebook calling for Yerevan residents to show up at the opening of the "Dolphinarium" on Friday, the 24th, and voice their opposition to this barbaric display of sea animals. The group will be meeting today at 4:30pm at the Aarhus Center located at 46 Charents Street (at the intersection of Sayat Nova Street) to brainstorm and devise public acts of resistance to the aquarium. The group says that the aquarium was illegally built without the required documentation and is merely a commercial showpiece for its backers. It urges all those opposed to the exploitation of these highly intelligent creatures to participate.
