Teachers Write to Hetq for Help With Unpaid Wages

A group of teachers from the Nor Geghi Agricultural College in Kotayk Marz have written to Hetq saying that the staff hasn’t received any wages for the past five months. The irate teachers claim that students have also not received their scholarships. They say that the College administration has told them that they haven’t received any funds from the national budget in order to make such payments. The teachers say that around New Years they were offered 30,000 AMD for two months salary; a sum they call ludicrous. The teachers say that they feel uncomfortable mounting any legal action or public protest given that the school is located in a small rural community where everyone knows everyone else. Thus, they are calling on Hetq to spread the word about their predicament.
