Minor Parties to Merge with Tsarukyan's Prosperous Armenia

At its upcoming January 22 convention, Armenia’s Progressive Party is expected to dissolve and unite with Gagik Tsarukyan’s Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP). Another Armenian party that has decided to merge with the PAP is the Armenian Youth Party. It will take the plunge on January 29. The merger was confirmed by Tigran Tatosyan, a member of the Youth Party’s executive council, in a statement to Hetq. We should remind readers that Youth Party President Vahan Babayan was lead the youth wing of the opposition-based Republic Party. He then enlisted in the United Liberal National Party that reports allege is backed by the son-in-law of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. After this, Babayan joined forces with the Youth Party.
