Armenian PACE Rep: Yerevan Might Rescind Protocol Signature

Today, members of Armenia’s delegation to PACE, the deliberative body of the Council of Europe, were invited to a press conference at the National Assembly. At the conference Prosperous Armenia Party MP Naira Zohrabyan charged Turkey with succumbing to Azerbaijani pressure and leading the Armenia-Turkey negotiations down a dead-end path. "The political leaders of Turkey at the January PACE session confirmed that there has been no change in the thinking of the Turkish political elite. They are being led by the same mentality as they were in 1915 and it appears that we are involved with a country that isn’t ready to be guided by democratic principles or the courage to come to grips with historical reality," said Zohrabyan. She repeated the possibility expressed by President Sargsyan that Armenia might go so far as rescinding its signature from the Armenia-Turkey protocols.
