On February 1, the Sardarabat Movement organized a roundtable discussion on the state of the environment in Armenia. Those attending the seminar at the office of the Human Rights and Democracy Institute in Yerevan agreed that a new plan of action and overall policy needed to be drafted in order tpo stave off the looming environmental crisis in Armenia. Participants linked the country’s environmental problems to the overall economic and political system now governing Armenia and sated that only a change of the political system would allow for comprehensive solutions to the environmental challenges facing the country.
