Another Tight-Lipped Prosperous Party MP

To say that certain Prosperous Armenian Party MP’s appear to have a phobia about meeting with reporters on the eve of the party’s convention on February 12, is no understatement. It’s as if they believe that members of the press have ulterior and underhanded motives when we ask for an interview. Such is the case with Versand Hakobyan, a Prosperous Armenia Party MP and owner of Yerevan Champagne Wines. Here’s what  transpired during our phone conversation. How would you explain your passive stance in the ranks of the Prosperous Armenia Party parliamentary faction? Why do say my role has been passive? Well, you have never made one legislative proposal in parliament and never voice any opinion on political developments. What’s the reason for your calling me by phone now? I would like to get your opinion, as a Prosperous Party MP. No. Tell me why this list of questions. Have you studied me? Let me cut to the chase. Will anything change on the political front after the Prosperous Party convention? Why should anything change? If a political party holds a convention, does it mean that something must change? Don’t you think there’ll be a rearrangement of the political forces? You should direct these questions to our party secretary. He could probably answer more correctly. But if you want my opinion, I’d say there won’t be changes. Good, so we understand each other. Hey, I’ve got to run. There’s a meeting going on here. Bye. So there you have it folks. Another informed response from a well-versed MP.
