Gevorg Badalyan, the third suspect wanted for the 2009 murder of American-Armenian businessman Nazaret Berberian, was taken into custody yesterday in an outlying Yerevan neighborhood by a special investigation unit of the RA Police. A warrant for Badalyan’s capture had been issued back in 2009. His two accomplices in the murder, Petros Temiryan and Karen Dalakyan, were sentenced to life imprisonment in April, 2010.

Gevorg Badalyan knew Berberian through Petros Temiryan who was arrested just days after the murder. Temiryan led police to the slain businessman’s body dumped in a shallow culvert on the Yerevan to Sevan highway.
