Evicted Yerevan Residents Send Plea to President
Residents evicted six years ago from their homes on Pavstos Buzand Street in downtown Yerevan in a case of eminent domain have circulated a public letter they have sent to President Sargsyan, demanding that the government makes good on its promise to find them suitable replacement housing.
In part the letter reads, "During your presidential election campaign, you promised to follow up on this issue and resolve the plight of the homeless. This promise has been forgotten."
"Our tolerance has reached its limit. Perhaps you will finally fulfil your promise and put an end to this scandalous state of affairs."
The letter is signed by G. Gharibyan, Gr. Gharibyan, S. Baghdasaryan, T. Zarikyants, A. Ghasabyan and L. Ghasabyan.
