For the third time, Armenia will be represented at the annual Paris Book Fair-Salon du Livre taking place from March 18-23. It is billed as the “most important cultural event in Europe.” At the Armenian exhibit, some 250 books published by the RA Ministry of Culture and over forty publishing houses in Armenia will be on display. The books cover the gamut from fiction to encyclopedias, children’s book to linguistics. On March 18-19, books focusing on Armenian architecture will be highlighted. On March 19, art expert Shahen Khachatryan will give a talk entitled “Famous Armenian artists and Paris”, which will touch on such personalities as Martiros Sarian, Hovhannes Ayvazovsky, Yervand Kochar and others. On March 20, the noted historian Raymond Kevorkian will be on hand to present works dealing with the Armenian genocide and Armenian remembrances. On the same day, Jean-Pierre Mahé will give a talk, in French, about Grigor Narekatsi.
