An armed top local Armenian police chief tried to rob a Converse Bank branch in Yerevan earlier today. After shooting a few times in the bank, the perpetrator was subdued by police who had arrived on the scene. Captain Artur Hakobyan, Chief of the Defense Division attached to the Nor Nork Police was slightly injured in the incident and was transferred to the Saint Grigor Lusavoritch Hospital. After being whisked away, police found a bag full of cash and a revolver on the floor. Police brass arrived on the scene to conduct an investigation of the foiled bank heist. Photos: Gagik Shamshyan
