Representatives of the following civic organizations today declared that they are demanding the immediate resignation of RA President Serzh Sargsyan.

The representatives argue that the Armenian government has done little, if anything, to stem the incidents of violence and deaths with the ranks of the Armenian military forces.

On the contrary, they claim that Armenian law enforcement agencies forcibly hindered relatives of dead soldiers from publicly protesting at recent celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

The reps also note that to date they have read of no specific measures publicly proposed by President Sargsyan, as Commander in Chief of the Armenian Armed Forces, in this regard.
