Prime Minister's Son to Open Largest Shopping Center in Artashat
Argam Abrahamyan, son of Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, is gearing up to open the largest shopping plaza in the town of Artashat on October 30.
The town, with a population of around 25,000 lies 30 kilometers south of Yerevan on the Araks River.
A supermarket will occupy the first floor, with a variety of clothing and other goods vendors on the second.
While the prime minister talks about spurring small and medium size business in Armenia, local shopkeepers are worries that the new center will drive them out of business.
