"Skinheads" Take Oath to Protect Armenia’s Environment
Young people in Armenia are getting their heads shaven for the sake of protecting the country’s environment.
The activists started the ritual the other day at the Trchkan Waterfall, after claiming victory in their attempts to halt the planned hydro-electric power plant at the scenic site.
More than 100 activists from Yervan, Gyunri and Vanadzor assembled at the waterfall to celebrate their victory and get their heads shorn of hair as testimony to their on-going struggle to expose all those intent on illegally destroying Armenia’s natural beauty in the name of profit.
The crowd was then received at the Shirakamut mayor’s office where a number of rock groups entertained activists and local resident alike.
