Police to Hand Over Info to Investigative Journalists NGO

In its two Freedom of Information suits, one filed against the police in Armenia and the other against the General Prosecutor’s office, the Investigative Journalists NGO will settle out of court with the former and awaits a final court decision on October 22 on the latter.

The trial in the two combined cases ended yesterday at Armenia’s Administrative Court.

The Police said they would hand over the information originally sought by Hetq.

The General Prosecutor’s Office has never responded to Hetq’s numerous written inquiries seeking access to court case materials for Soghomon Kocharyan, sentenced to capital punishment in 1995.
