MP Postanjyan and Parliament VP Sharmazanov Have Verbal Tiff
Heritage Party MP Zarouhie Postanjyan had her microphone cut off a second time today while speaking in Armenia’s National Assembly.
This time, power was cut by parliament vice-president Edward Sharmazanov.
Postanjyan was talking about violations that marred the December 6 constitutional change referendum.
An irritated Sharmazanov called for the next speaker, but Postanjyan stood her ground, arguing that her allotted time wasn’t up. Her microphone was cut but she continued talking.
Sharmazanov then cited the parliament’s code of conduct. This too had no impact on Postanjyan. Sharmazanov was then forced to declare a half hour recess.
Announcing the break Sharmazanov clucked “Es ov a, ara?” (Loosely translated as – Who does she think she is?)
