Putting a positive spin on yesterday’s defeat on the ruling Republican Party’s candidate for Ijevan mayor, party spokesman Edward Sharmazanov told Hetq that there are more than 900 communities in Armenia and that 70% have Republican Party mayors.

When asked if the defeat isn’t a reflection of the public sentiment towards the party, Sharmazanov responded that, “You can’t change your political line on the basis of just one mayoral election.”
