Sanitek, the Lebanese garbage removal company that has the contract to service Yerevan, today starting operating in the Erebouni district of the Armenian capital.

Erebouni is the eleventh of Yerevan’s twelve administrative districts to be serviced by Sanitek.

Large green Sanitek trash bins, designed for household waste, can be seen along Yerevan streets and sidewalks.

Many of the smaller commercial establishments use these bins as opposed to paying for private haulage.

Construction waste is another matter. Where building site debris and smaller renovation project detritus winds up remains somewhat of a mystery. Oftentimes, it’s just dumped on the grounds of some abandoned warehouse or factory; somewhere out of sight, out of mind.
