Singer Ofelya Hambardzumyan Dead at 91
Ofelya Hambardzumyan, famous for her renditions of Armenian folk and classical music, passed away today in Yerevan at the age of 91.
Born in Yerevan, Hambardzumyan received her vocal training at the Romanos Melikyan Musical College.
In 1959, she was awarded the People's Artist of the USSR. In 2011 Hambardzumyan was awarded the "Mesrob Mashtots" Medal.
