Environment Minister Wants to Give Parkland to State Revenue Committee
In yet another puzzling move, RA Environment Minister Aram Harutyunyan has proposed that 22.5 hectares of the Dilijan National Park be leased to the State Revenue Committee for 25 years.
Minister Harutyunyan argues that the Committee needs the area as a training and educational complex for its employees.
Harutyunyan argues that one of today’s most important problems is organizing the education and leisure of sector employees and that the challenge can be effectively met by utilizing the recreational resources of the Dilijan National Park.
The area in question also is home to a number of historical and cultural monuments and medieval settlements.
The draft proposal does not rule out the possibility of construction is the government adopts the bill.
