Kapan Municipality Fines Tsarukyan's Company AMD 600,000
The Kapan Municipality has fined a company owned by Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan AMD 600,000 ($1,250) for going ahead with construction work on a cement crushing plant without first obtaining the proper permits.
Kapan Mayor Ashot Hayrapetyan says that the company, AraratCement, never informed the municipality about its plans to build the plant near the town’s airport.
Hayrapetyan says that he isn’t aware if the company has stopped work on the proposed plant after being fined.
This is more than a bit surprising since the construction site is located in a busy part of town.
