Vanadzor: Hundreds March in Opposition to Sargsyan Government
By Gayaneh Sargsyan
Hundreds marched through Vanadzor today to protest the April 17 election of Serzh Sargsyan as Armenia’s prime minister.
Meanwhile, scores of cabbies drove their taxis around the town in a circle, informing residents of the protest march.
Police, some in plainclothes, monitored the marchers from the sidelines.
The marchers disregarded police requests to stay on the sidewalks.
Note: Today is the ninth day of street protests and rallies calling for the resignation of Serzh Sargsyan as prime minister and an end to Republican Party of Armenia rule.
