Yerevan: Students Continue to Protest After Cancellation of Negotiations

Early this morning, students from different universities continued to protest, chanting "Make your step for the last time" calls. Students movement is coordinated by Davit Petrosyan. 

Starting from the YSU and inviting other students on their way, students walk toward Republic Square, where at 11:00 opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan holds another rally.

Note to Readers: On 23 April, after 11 days of protests against Serzh Sargsyan's election as prime minister, Sargsyan resigned. It was announced that Nikol Pashinyan would meet acting prime minister Karen Karapetyan on April 25 to discuss other items of the agenda announced by Pashinyan, including the election of the prime minister by “people’s choice” and  snap parliamentary elections.  However, later in the evening yesterday, it was announced that the planned negotiations between Karapetyan and Pashinyan. Given the collapse of talks, Nikol Pashinyan called on citizens to start gathering today at Republic Square.
