Massive Civil Disobedience in Yerevan and Provinces

Yesterday evening, after elections in the Armenian National Assembly, Pashinyan called on the people to ramp up their civil disobedience by blocking all roads, public transportation and the Zvartnots Airport.

From early morning, acts of civil disobedience have resumed in Yerevan and in different provinces of Armenia. The protesters block almost all the streets and bridges in Yerevan, many strike, protesting yesterday's election results in the National Assembly.

Note to readers: Yesterday, at a special session, Armenian National Assembly voted 56-45 not to elect Nikol Pashinyan prime minister. The RPA, having political majority in the Assembly, rejected the candidacy of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The next session for electing a prime minister will be convened on May 8.
