Armenian President Armen Sarkissian today met with representatives of the country’s Syrian-Armenian community for what his press office describes as a “frank and open” discussion on many of the problems facing the community.

The issues broached related to social integration, education and the business sector.

Also present was Syria’s Ambassador to Armenia Muhammad Ahmad Haji Ibrahim.

The sides agreed to hold similar meetings in the future.

Sarkissian expressed the hope that once the conflict in Syria ends, Armenians would fully devote themselves to developing their two homelands.
