Armenia's Yezidis Congratulate Pashinyan; Hope New Government Will Respect Minority Rights
The Minjar Yezidi National Union of Armenia has issued a statement saying that the people’s movement spearheaded by Nikol Pashinyan was the first in Armenia in which the country’s national minorities, especially the Yezidi community, wholeheartedly participated in.
Congratulating Pashinyan on his election as prime minister, the Union says it hopes the new government will not repeat the mistakes of the past and will see to it that the rights of all minorities are protected.
“We are hopeful that under the new government the religious rights of people will not be violated in schools, kindergartens, the army, and other government bodies.”
