Armavir Hospital Staff Complain About 10% Salary Withholding
The staff at the Armavir Medical Center haven’t been fully paid since October of last year.
They claim that 10% of their wages has been skimmed off the top ever since. Workers also say they have been threatened with dismissal if they talk to reporters.
Many who talked to us refused to give their names.
Staffers at the hospital could only guess as to where the money is going. Many believe that the funds are going to pay off an 81 million AMD debt that the hospital owes from the tenure of former director Nshan Gevorgyan.
Gevorgyan still works as a physician at the Armavir Medical Center.
Of interest is the fact that two young children died while being treated at the hospital when Gevorgyan was in charge. The cause of the two deaths, in 2010 and 2011, was professional negligence.
The two cases are now in the courts.
