International Manhunt Launched for Serzh Sargsyan's Nephew
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) has issued an international manhunt for Narek Sargsyan, nephew of former Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
The NSS has been looking for Narek Sargsyan since July 5, after a raid of his home revealed a large cache of drugs and weapons.
An NSS statement says Narek Sargsyan and a bodyguard fled to Moscow on July 22.
On July 7, Armenia’s Special Investigative Service (SIS) issued a warrant for Levon Sargsyan (Serzh Sargsyan’s brother), his daughter and son.
Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) has accused a company partially owned by Levon Sargsyan and his family of tax evasion in the amount of AMD 300 million (approximately $622,000 at the current exchange rate).
