
Armenian Government Proposes Tougher Fines for Illegal Tree Logging
Accepting that past Armenian governments haven’t been able to stem illegal tree logging and the destruction of endangered flora and fauna, the Ministry of Nature Protection has introduced a bill that would substantially increase fines for those found guilty.
Ministry officials argue that the country’s Criminal Code needs tougher penalties for those found damaging Armenia’s eco-system.
