Since 2005 the American University of Armenia’s Hakobyan Ecological Center has conducted a research project entitled the “White Stork”. During these years some 1,017 white stork nests have been registered throughout different regions of Armenia. Next to each nest a small plaque has been affixed that reads, “Under protection”.
