Young people in Armenia are getting their heads shaven for the sake of protecting the country’s environment.
The site remains an environmental hazard, however, as it is located in an active landslide zone, close to populated areas and agricultural zones. The newly launched project will determine the risks of the site to the environment and human health, analyze the contents and geo-physical situation of the landfill, and recommend several options for final remediation of the site.
A public discussion will take place on November 9 regarding plans to build a 7-8 storey hotel atop the Republic Square metro station in downtown Yerevan. The event will be held at the Aarhus Center in Yerevan located at 46 Charents Street.
