The Armenian Apostolic Church’s Supreme Spiritual Council today announced that its Artsakh Diocese will continue to maintain its status and act according to church-canonical principles even though only a handful of Armenians remain in the region.
Avetik Ishkhanyan, a well-known human rights defender in Armenia who heads the Helsinki Committee of Armenia, reports that he has been charged with “inciting violence” in a September 19 Facebook post entitled “Death to Traitors”.
