Armenia's Foreign Trade Volume Down 7.5% In January
Armenia's economic activity index grew by 6.1% in January this year, compared to the same month of the previous year. According to the data released by the National Statistical Committee, this was due to trade circulation, services and construction areas.
Trade turnover amounted to 187.8 billion drams (19.3% increase), the volume of services was 130.5 billion drams (15.6% increase) and construction amounted to 10.8 billion drams (22.1% increase).
Meanwhile, the volume of industrial production was equal to 123.6 billion drams, which is 0.4% less than in January 2018, supposedly because of reduction in mining volumes. The detailed report to clarify the figures will be published in the near future.
There has also been a decline in foreign trade. Armenia's foreign trade turnover in January of this year amounted to around $ 463 million, down 7.6% compared to January 2018.
