
Government Issues $2.1 Million Customs Waiver to Ex-MP Ashot Arsenyan's Companies
The Armenian government today granted companies owned by ex-MP Ashot Arsenyan a 1.073 billion (US$2.1 million) AMD import tax exemption.
Arsenyan’s Jermuk Group received an exemption of 804 million drams and his Gold Cup franchise, received a 269 million drams exemption.
The Jermuk Group says it will import goods worth 20 billion drams from India, Saudi Arabia and Luxembourg to produces plastic bottles.
Gold Cup, founded in February this year, will import 4 billion drams worth of polyethylene from France and Italy without paying 269 million drams in customs tax. The company will use the goods to produce plastic corks.
