Yerevan Court Denies Bail for Former State Revenue Committee Chairman

Yerevan’s Court of General Jurisdiction today rejected an AMD 230 million bail request for former State Revenue Committee Chairman Gagik Khachatryan.

Gagik Khachatryan was arrested on August 27, after law enforcement agents searched his home.

Khachatryan denies the large-scale embezzlement and abuse of official power charges levied against him.

Armenia’s National Security Service filed an appeal with the court to deny the bail motion and keep Khachatryan under detention.
