Pashinyan, In Brussels, Discusses Reform Process with European Council President Charles Michel

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who arrived today in Brussels on a working visit, has met with European Council President Charles Michel.

The two, according to a statement released by Pashinyan’s office, discussed a wide range of issues related to EU-Armenia cooperation and focused on the reform process underway in Armenia.

Pashinyan is said to have thanked the European Union (EU) for its support of the reforms being implemented in Armenia and expressed confidence that EU-Armenia interaction would continue to develop during Charles Michel’s tenure as President of the European Council.

“The European Union is our key partner in advancing the reforms; we have felt EU’s backing all the way through the reform process,” Pashinyan said.

Pashinyan and Charles Michel exchanged views on their expectations from the upcoming Eastern Partnership Summit, due to be held in Brussels this June.

Pashinyan stressed that his government will be consistent in developing and strengthening democracy in Armenia, protecting human rights and enforcing the rule of law.
