Armenian Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan today voiced his concerns regarding the recent spike of Covid-19 cases and related deaths.

At today's government cabinet session, presided over by PM Nikol Pashinyan via a video link-up, Torosyan said that 15-20% of those infected require hospital care and that the government is working to see that all those requiring medical care receive it.

Torosyan echoed remarks recently made by PM Pashinyan that the public, in general, is not following government health guidelines about social distancing, wearing face masks, and avoiding crowds.

697 people have tested positive for the coronavirus since yesterday, a record one day increase.

Torosyan said that 391 Covid-19 patients are in very serious condition.

Pashinyan is in self-isolation after testing positive for the coronavirus.
